Info
This web application was developed for the USACE by Mitchell Regan and Matthew Postel.
Press the ⓘ in the corner to bring this up or close this at any time!
Upon loading the page on a mobile device, a prompt should appear to "Add Water Data to Home screen"
(at least on Android). This is entirely optional, but is for your convenience! Simply tap the prompt
and hit install!
Speaking of mobile, you will mostly want to use the application in landscape mode for best
use.
Steps of use:
-
Use the search bar to find a water location you would like to view the data for. Each of the
three search boxes further filters the search. The results are sorted in no particular order.
- Search by Name
- Search by City
- Search by County
- Select a location from the list of options. Selecting one will fill in the name into the search
bar.
- Press "Search!".
-
A list of time series will populate in the sidebar if any are available.
- The information populated in the sidebar is according to the API, it is not always
accurate for some reason, but it can give you a good idea.
- Not every timeseries is guraranteed to graph, some do not have data within the selected
time interval.
- Some water locations have many timeseries options, some have none.
-
You may adjust the time range on the search bar to include more or less time in the graph.
- These date-pickers can be changed at any time. The graph will only update if you press
"Graph Timeseries!" again.
- Press on "Graph Timeseries!" and wait for the graph to show up.
- When the graph shows up you may explore the data (try hovering on data points or tapping
highlighted regions!)
- You may return to any step along the way and proceed from there!
